I proudly introduce to you Joaquin Zihuatanejo. My girls’ word coach and mentor.

He is one of the world’s foremost wordsmiths and 2008 Individual World Poetry Slam Championship. His honors are many and his vision mirrors my own by developing the voices our children.

It brings me great joy to know that he is a friend and a mentor to my daughters. Joaquin, Raul Magdaleno, and I are working on initiatives to get into the schools and help teach this art.

This performance was made at the DISD Headquarters to a a select few ladies that were inspired and touched. Tears were shed. Lives will be changed.
