Shhh she’s asleep

S

She’s holding my hand under her face as I type this.

Sometime around 5 or 6 in the morning I felt her crawl into bed and curl up right next to me.

This has become a regular morning ritual. She wakes up real early and makes the trek to my room and goes back to sleep.

She’ll reach for me every so often to check in and make sure I am still here. And I am. I really don’t want to leave.

As I started to write this, I only had one hand available to type and was willing to type this entry with just that one hand.

I love her. This is evident.

Yet the way she makes sure to demonstrate her love and connection always shake me.

It literally makes me feel so alive. These moments make everything I do worth the heartache and struggle.
