On Becoming a Better Man, Human, and Father

You are Awesome! Really!

I love this video! There are so many way too many lessons I get out of this short film.

First and foremost, it is simply appreciating people for who they are and what they have to offer. I have found through my journey that it is so much easier to criticize and be judgmental than it is to understand.

Some people can be total jack-asses and difficult (I was in retail for 18 years so I understand) but to let them get to you is truly a mistake. What some people just need is validations and knowing that someone understands them can take away that hard persona that they put out.

Some people just do not know how else to behave. They have been running these processes since their childhood.

“All behavior has a positive intention”

It may not be positive for us, but it is for them. That has been a really hard lesson to learn. Their behavior is simply a self-defense process that has allowed them to survive up until now, very similar to the woman that our main character is pursuing in the Validation.

I am not making excuses for being mean, cruel, or hateful. But what I am suggesting is that there is so much more than what we see, hear, or feel.
