I asked my mom recently:
Of all the worries you had about your children, how many of them came true?
She replied: Very few.
But yet she worried about all the potential things that could go wrong making herself miserable and sad.
“Some people like what you do,
some people hate what you do, but most people don’t give a damn.” -Charles Bukowski
Focus on those who give a damn. They’re easy to spot.
I reached the tipping point.
The marriage wasn’t working. On Xmas Eve 2006, I called it.
I looked around, saw the gifts, and felt numb.
But it also felt right and that would be the beginning of the rest of my life.
