Dopamine Detox UPDATE

No social media apps on my phone.

It’s been great… my mood’s lighter, and I swear I feel hope all the way down in my pinky toes again.

But… the itch is still there.

That addictive, compulsive reach for the phone.

The culprit? My email app.

Ugh. I was opening it over and over like a slot machine. But why?!

So a couple days ago, I expanded my detox: no email on my phone.

Now, if I need to check, it’s only on my desktop: 10am, 2pm, and 5pm.

Clients with true emergencies can cc my assistant. If the internet explodes and the world’s on fire, they can text me.

I’m still available, but with boundaries.

That’s my solution.

Admitting the addiction was the first step. Taking back control of my attention is the second.

I don’t just want hope in my pinky toes.

I want it in all ten.
