There’s A Personality Type I Avoid

There’s a personality type I avoid like a ‘We need to talk’ text.

High-energy. Overpromising. Charismatic.

Male. Female. Doesn’t matter.

Early in my business career, I didn’t know any better. I fell for it. A lot. I was hungry for opportunity. Open to collaboration. Ready to build.

And they’re good. Very good. They paint a massive vision. Tell you how you’d be a perfect fit. Talk synergy. Momentum. Big things coming.

We exchange numbers. Business cards. Handshakes.

Then I follow up days later. Weeks later.

Ghosty ghosts.

Over the last 10 years, I’ve gotten better at spotting them. The tempo. The over-sell. The too-fast intimacy.

But every now and then, one still slips through.

And I’m left kicking rocks and feeling dumb.

You’d think I’d learn. I’m a sucker for high-energy, passionate people.

He writes about life, fatherhood, and the beautifully messy journey of personal growth—wins, losses, and everything in between.
